Characteristics
ULTRASIL SY 72 is a silane/siloxane based water and oil repellent mixture of synthetic resins containing solvents.
Application
ULTRASIL SY 72 in diluted form with a suitable solvent, is used to render all types of mineral based construction and building materials water and oil (i.e. soil) repellent.
ULTRASIL SY 72, applied by impregnation, prevents staining of facades of natural or synthetic stone, concrete or fibrous cement in inside and outside by undesired stains/materials such as dirt, grease, graffiti, posters, etc. Oil, grease and paint, etc. can be more easily removed/wiped off the surfaces that have been treated with ULTRASIL SY 72.
ULTRASIL SY 72 imparts water, oil and dirt repellent properties to low-porosity natural stone, e. g. marble, travertine and granite. The product is also used to treat floors of natural or synthetic stone or unglazed ceramic tiles for easy care and for extending their lifetime.
ULTRASIL SY 72 doesnt affect the water vapour diffusion of the treated surface of building materials in any adverse way.

Processing
ULTRASIL SY 72 should be diluted before use with white spirit or a similar solvent in a ratio 1:1 to 1: 4.
The substrate to be treated should be air dry and absorbent. The diluted solution should be liberally brushed onto substrate. The hydrophobic and oleophobic effects develop within 24 - 48 hours. In order to determine possible discoloration in advance, it is advisable to run trials in a small test area. This can also be used to check the efficiency of the products.
Substrates treated with ULTRASIL SY 72 should be cleaned at once after contamination with oil, grease or paint. After cleaning and drying, it is necessary to repeat treatment with ULTRASIL SY 72.
When thinned product is being used, proper safety precautions should be taken. If the product is being used in closed areas, good air ventilation should be maintained.
