General product information

ULTRASIL SI 7100
Silane / Siloxane Based Water Repellent and Primer

Characteristics

ULTRASIL SI 7100 is a water-thinnable, solvent free silane/siloxane emulsion. Dilute solutions of ULTRASIL SI 7100 serve as high quality, general-purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral surfaces.

Applications

ULTRASIL SI 7100 is an excellent water repellent for many absorbent mineral and even highly alkaline substrates such as bricks, concrete, sandlime brick, natural sandstone and mineral plasters.

ULTRASIL SI 7100 may also serve as water-repellent primer for emulsion paints and plasters, silicone resin emulsion paints and silicone resin plasters, as well as for concrete coatings.

Thanks to its aqueous consistency and emulsion stability, ULTRASIL SI 7100 is ideal for in-plant impregnation of building materials made of clay, aerated concrete, sand-lime brick, fibrous cement, mineral fibers and lightweight aggregate.

ULTRASIL SI 7100 reduces the capillary absorption of the building materials surfaces penetrated, but does not clog pores or capillaries. There is therefore no impairment of the materials ability to breathe.

Features

● Good depth of penetration
● High resistance to alkalis
● Water-based and environmentally compatible
● High performance even on moist and humid surfaces
● Rapid development of water repellency
● No impairment of the water vapor permeability of the applied surfaces
● Provides better adhesion for paints when used as primer

Dilution and Processing

ULTRASIL SI 7100 can be diluted with regular tap water for preparing solutions depending on purpose or area of application.

If used as water repellent primer, it is recommended to dilute the product at the ratio 1:4 to 1:9.

In manufacture of building materials, ULTRASIL SI 7100 could be diluted at 1:20 to 1:50 ratios for impregnation of materials. In any case, the ratio of dilution should be determined by trials on the material.
