ULTRASIL R 540Silicone Based Water Repellent Resin Emulsion
Characteristics
ULTRASIL R 540 is a water-thinnable solvent-free emulsion of a silicone resin.
Application
ULTRASIL R 540 is employed as the main binder in silicone resin emulsion paints and plaster. If formulated properly, the products made with ULTRASIL R 540 are characterized by superior qualities such as high permeability to water vapor and CO2, low water absorption, low soiling tendency, a mineral like appearance and long life.

Processing
ULTRASIL R 540 should be added to the paint product in ratios of 3% to 10% depending on the end use properties desired to be achieved in the final product. For excellent beading effects, 1% ULTRASIL SI 310 should be added to the formulation as well.
Facades must be primed before painting for optimal protection. We recommend ULTRASIL SI 7100 (water based) or ULTRASIL SI 7200 (solvent based) primers.
